I am an audio systems engineer at Bose Corporation, in their Automotive Systems Division. Basically I design and tune car audio systems for new cars.

I live in the suburbs of Detroit, MI, but my life experiences have taken me all over the place. When I was born, my family stilled lived in Kettering, MD, which is close to where FedExField (which was farm at the time) now stands. I attended Kindergarten at Kettering Elementary School. In May, 1985, my family moved to Silver Spring, MD to the house where my parents live today. I attended school at Fairland Elementary School, Benjamin Banneker Middle School and then Paint Branch High School. I graduated from high school in June, 1998.

After high school, I took up the family tradition of going to college in the midwest. I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my junior year of college, I took a semester off for an internship with Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, TX. I lived in Texas from January to July of 2001. I finished my bachelors in electrical engineering in May, 2002. I stayed on for my masters' degree, which I completed in May, 2004. For my master's thesis, I studied training algorithms for hidden Markov models for the intelligent hearing aid project.

After graduation, I stayed on campus for six months and simply put, just enjoyed myself. I went out every night, woke up, went for a jog, sat in the union and sent out resumes, and then did it all over again the next day. I finally got bored of that and took a job with Anheuser-Busch in Saint Louis, MO. At A-B, I worked in the BOT (Brewing, Operations and Technology) Engineering group. I was part of an effort where we replaced every computer at every A-B brewery. This involved software testing, TONS of logistics and coordinating the effort with brewery staff at the various breweries. I was the lead for this project at the flagship brewery in Saint Louis, MO as well as the Jacksonville, FL brewery.

In January 2006, I got the opportunity to work for Bose. Since most of my school work and thesis dealt with digital signal processing and its applications to sound, this was an irresistable offer. I packed up and moved to Michigan, where I currently reside.

I have one (older) sister, Suneela, who graduated from the University of Michigan. She married my brother-in-law Jim in May, 2003. They live in Silver Spring, Maryland, which is where I grew up and where my parents still live.

My biggest hobbies are music and sports. I used to be a huge sports fan, but it has died off in recent years -- mainly since the famous Shal Ripken incident. My favorite teams are the Fighting Illini, the Washington Redskins, and the Baltimore Orioles. I also like lifting weights and running. Its addictive, trust me.

I'm a big music fan. It all started with Billy Joel's 'Stor Front,' album. Since then I've taken up a wide variety of musical tastes. I've also learned to play various instruments at some level. I've learned to play the violin, saxophone, harmonium (an Indian instrument), piano, guitar and drums. Only my piano-playing is worth listening to, however. Some of my favorite musical acts include Billy Joel, Ben Folds, Elton John, the Alkaline Trio, and the Gin Blossoms.

I am also a member of Triangle Fraternity. Triangle was always an interesting breed of folks, and that still has not changed. I have probably met some of the smartest and determined people in my life, as well as some of the craziest and wildest people in my life -- all through Triangle fraternity. If you are anti-greek, so be it. I challenge you to actually meet me and judge me based on that.

My future plans are to learn as much as I can at Bose. I feel truly lucky to have gotten this opportunity and I will not let it go to waste. After that, who knows! I've toyed with the idea of doing a PhD or an MBA. Mostly, I want nothing more than to do what people least expect of me, and keep people on their toes.

Maybe one day, I'll even end up moving to Chicago -- so everyone will finally stop ask me when I'm moving to Chicago.
